ABU DHABI,  Marwa Abdel Aziz Fathi giggled self-consciously as she looked down at the new wing-shaped brooch on the left breast pocket of her crisp gray uniform, then around the room at the dozens of other Etihad flight attendants all chatting and eating canapés around her.
It was graduation day at Etihad Training Academy, where the national airline of the United Arab Emirates holds a seven-week training course for new flight attendants. Airlines Air Hostess

he students of the Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess conducted a fashion show, which marked the end of the scholastic year. This was indeed a spectacular event for students, teachers, judges and talent scout that attended the show.
The fashion show or rather the `competition of talent' represented the perfect end and showed the creative attributes the students have acquired throughout the year. This will certainly afford them the opportunity to work in the aviation industry.
The programme conducted at the Country Club started off with some entertaining film numbers and gusto performances from the students. Smart looking air hostess and cabin crew boys impressed the gathering with sheer chutzpah and cocky answers. The participants went through a round of introductions, another, which displayed their trousseau and finally the question and answer session. Everything about the evening was fine except for the jarring music that intercepted every walk and talk on the crammed stage. Saluja, an instructor at the institute said the programme was held to showcase the evolution of the student after joining the institute. She added, that the Frankfinn institute which was set up in Hyderabad in 2004 has come a long way and noted that most of the aspirants from the middle income background, had applied for the training course.
Saluja added that besides the reputation of glamour that precedes the job, being an air hostess requires oodles of physical stamina and a systematic approach in managing the passengers in her care. "Being an air-hostess is something more than just being a waitress in the sky and lot more than hanging around on airport terraces sipping cocktails
